Betzefer signs European deal with Steamhammer/SPV
Israeli metallers Betzefer have inked a European deal with Steamhammer/Spv. The band's new album, "The Devil Went Down To The Holy Land", will be released on October 28 (except for Germany, Austria and Switzerland , where it will arrive three days earlier). A limited vinyl version will also be made available.Says Steamhammer/Spv A&R representative Georg Schröder: "There’s no doubt that Betzefer is one of the premier metal acts — not only in Israel, where the guys also host the weekly Betzefer's 'Headbangers Ball' on Mtv.
"Full-length number 3 is packed with super-heavy but groovy metal stuff and we can't wait to release 'The Devil Went Down To The Holy Land' within Europe."
Betzefer started recording "The Devil Went Down To The Holy Land" last September with longtime producer Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Sick Of It All, Mnemic).
Betzefer's debut album, "Down Low", was released in 2005 via Roadrunner Records. The band's energetic brand of metal was previously described as a mixture of Sepultura and Pantera and was said to be "packed with aggression."
Prior to issuing "Down Low" through Roadrunner, Betzefer released three EPs: "Pitz Aachbar" (2000), "Some Tits, But No Bush" (2001) and "New Hate" (2003).
